In 1971, Ruth Van Goor opened Dapple-Gray Antiques in St. Joseph, Mo., moving to Kirkwood, Mo., in 1975. Here, she conducted business locally for 31 years and participated in national shows in Chicago, Denver, Kansas City, Louisville, Chattanooga, Harrisburg, and Mackinac Island.
The antique shop, located in Dapple-Gray Bed & Breakfast, is general line Victorian with an emphasis on glass (1820's Flint to 1890's Pattern) and ceramics (early-1800's Creamware and Pearlware to 1850's Transfer). The inventory also includes books (1800 through World War II), souvenir spoons (1890 to 1915), and dolls (1860 to 1915).
